626 Night Market – Orange County

Tom and I used to go to random food festivals or events a lot before the pandemic, so when Vince messaged Tom about going to the 626 Night Market yesterday, Tom and I agreed to go very easily.

It was our first time going to the one in Orange County (Costa Mesa) since we used to go to the one in Arcadia (because I used to live there), and I have to say that the OC Fairgrounds is a good location. Everything seems to be spaced out nicely, like not too crowded or anything, and I like how many artists have the hangar area to showcase their stuff.

Tom and I did not get much food because we weren’t actually that hungry, which was a good thing since the cost of the food certainly went up. I understand that everything has gotten more expensive, so it makes sense the food is more expensive, too. We aimed towards easier to eat food like skewers. We tried Zindrew’s wontons since we like the chili oil, and we were both surprised about how the wontons were not bad. Not great, but not like machine processed, so we were satisfied enough. Vince really got into the ube foods, so I really enjoyed the ube butter mochi (not pictured) because I like chewy things. The cinnamon roll was massive, so we all shared.

Overall, it was just fun to go on a food adventure again. I personally had a lot of fun just walking around and checking out the food and artist alley. It’s just fun to explore.
